From Pasture to Jar: Our Slow Rendering Process

Every jar of art & tallow cream begins on the farm. We work with small, grass-fed operations that raise their herds on open pasture. Their suet — the pure fat around the kidneys — is where the richest nutrients live.

Once it arrives at our studio, we render it the slow way. No high heat, no chemicals. Just time, patience, and care. We keep the temperature low enough to preserve the natural vitamins and antioxidants, filtering it carefully until it turns clear and golden.

From there, we blend it with organic oils and whip it until it’s light and creamy. The texture alone tells you how different it is from mass-made balms — soft, clean, and free of anything unnecessary. We never add artificial fragrance or preservatives; the scent is subtle and natural.

Transparency is central to what we do. You should know where your skincare comes from and how it’s made. That’s why we trace every batch from pasture to jar. It’s not just a product — it’s a process rooted in respect for the land, the animal, and the skin it was made to nourish.
