FAQ

Do you use real grass-fed tallow?

Yes. We source from regenerative farms that raise cattle on pasture without hormones or antibiotics. Our tallow is 100 percent grass fed and grass finished.

Will it smell like beef fat?

No. Our slow rendering process removes most of the scent. Essential oils are added lightly for a subtle, clean finish.

Is it safe for sensitive skin or eczema?

Yes. Many customers with sensitive skin find relief using our tallow products. Always patch test before full use.

Does tallow clog pores?

Tallow is highly compatible with human skin. However, all skin is unique. We have balanced our formula with non-comedogenic oils such as organic mango butter, organic beeswax, non-GMO vitamin E oil, organic calendula oil, organic neroli essential oil, and organic vanilla bean.

Is this recommended by dermatologists?

Tallow is not a mainstream skincare ingredient. While some dermatologists may express caution, many individuals find it to be a powerful, natural alternative to commercial moisturizers.

What is tallow and why is it good for my skin?

Tallow is a nutrient-rich fat rendered from grass fed and grass finished cattle. Its fatty acids are very similar to the oils naturally produced by your skin, which allows it to absorb quickly and nourish deeply. It also contains vitamins A, D, E, and K to support the skin barrier, repair damage, and protect against environmental stressors.

Can tallow help with dry or sensitive skin?

Yes. Tallow is naturally gentle and stabilizing. It can soothe dryness, calm irritation, and restore moisture without clogging pores. Many people with eczema, psoriasis, or sensitive skin have found tallow to be a reliable and nourishing solution.

How do I use art & tallow cream?

Apply a small amount to clean, slightly damp skin. Warm the cream between your fingers and press it gently into the face or any dry spots. For oilier or acne prone skin, a thin layer works best, often at night. Tallow can also be used as a body balm for hands, elbows, feet, or anywhere the skin feels tight.

Is it safe for babies and children?

Tallow is very gentle and natural, but we always recommend performing a patch test before full use. For babies or very sensitive skin, apply a small amount to a limited area first.

Can I use it if I have oily or combination skin?

Yes. Start with a very small amount and focus on the areas that need hydration. Over time, tallow can help balance oil production and maintain healthy skin.

How should I store my cream?

Keep it in a cool place away from direct sunlight. In warmer months, if the texture softens, place it in the refrigerator for a few minutes to restore its whipped consistency.

Are there preservatives or artificial ingredients?

No. We use only organic oils and botanicals to enhance the natural properties of tallow. There are no fillers, stabilizers, or synthetic fragrances in any of our products.

Where does your tallow come from?

We work with small farms that raise cattle on open pastures using ethical, regenerative practices. This ensures the highest quality fat and supports sustainability. Every jar can be traced from pasture to your shelf.

How long does the cream last?

When stored properly, art & tallow cream can last up to one year. Because it contains no preservatives, we recommend using it within this time for the freshest experience.
